Chromatographic Phases

One main application of silica gel within the frame of chemical processing is its use as stationary phase in chromatographic separations, both analytical and preparative. Are silica gels all just the same? Purity, pore structure, and particle sizes and distribution are key differentiators, and need to be optimized relative to the nature of what needs to be separated. Together with SiliCycle, we can offer you a broad range of silica gels to choose from.

SiliaFlash Irregular Silica Gels

For your preparative chromatography, we offer the right products, ranging from pore sizes 30 - 300 Å, particle sizes as big as 1200 µm. Silica gel products that compare very favorably with regard to fines content and metal traces. Our quality is consistent from batch to batch, from year to year, securing that your processes run reliably well and reproducible.

A detailed presentation of the SiliaFlash silica gels and their applications can be found in our designated brochure "Solutions for Purification and Chromatography".

Further details on our SiliaFlash products are available to you here on the according webpages from SiliCycle. There you will find, next to much more, a selection guide, and a summary of benefits you get from using SiliaFlash silica gels.

SiliaSphere PC Spherical Silica Gels

While irregular silica gel is still the standard phase in preparative chromatography, it is common knowledge that spherical silica provides more powerful separation. But at a high cost that many compounds to be separated and purified cannot justify. To fill the gap between standard and high end, SiliCycle has developed the SiliaSphere PC Spherical Silica Gels for Preprative Chromatography: spherical silica gel that is superior in chromatographic performance, loading capacity, reproducibility, and chemical & physical stability. All this comes at a very affordable price, as their uniformity coefficient is higher than the one of our monodisperse spherical silica gels.

A detailed presentation of the SiliaSphere PC Spherical Silica Gels and their applications can be found in our designated brochure "Solutions for Purification and Chromatography".

Further details on our SiliaSphere PC products are available to you here on the according webpages from SiliCycle.

SiliaBond Chromatographic Phases

While bare silica gels represent so-called normal phases, functionalized silica gels can, depending on the way they are functionalized, be used as both normal and reversed phases. This extends our portfolio for chromatographic phases significantly.

For reversed phases functions like linear alkyl chains (C1 to C18) but also cyclic moieties are used (cyclohexyl-, phenyl-, …). Further finetuning to your needs is available through the parameters end-capping y/n and carbon load.

For normal phases, we offer, next to the non-functionalized silica gels, those displaying polar groups (amino, cyano, diol). Next to that, we offer non-silica-based phases like alumina and florisil, both used as normal phases as well.

Our offer is complemented by so-called ion exchange phases. These are used to separate compounds on the basis of ionic interactions. Our portfolio includes SCX and WCX, as well as WAX und SAX phases.

Finally we can serve you with our fluorinated phases for special separation needs.

A detailed presentation of the SiliaBond Chromatographic Phases and their applications can be found in our designated brochure "Solutions for Purification and Chromatography".

Further details on our SiliaBond Chromatographic Phases products are available to you here on the according webpages from SiliCycle.

SiliaSep Flash Cartridges

Flash cartridges made by SiliCycle are distinguished by using ultrapure silica gel that is packed very densely and homogeneously leading to best and reproducible performance. Excellent separation, high productivity and low solvent needs are the benefits.

Within our flash cartridge portfolio, we make available to you almost all of our functionalized and non-functionalized silica gels, i. e. besides normal, reversed, and ion exchange phases also all of our SiliaMetS Metal Scavengers. Cartridge sizes vary from g to kg scale.

The SiliaSep product segment consists of two sub segments that are based on two silica gel qualities: the normal SiliaSep cartridges use irregular silica gel 40 – 63 µm, SiliaSep PREMIUM exclusively use spherical silica gel of 25 µm, functionalized and non-functionalized.

The hardware design of all of our SiliaSep Flash cartridges ensures compatibility with all flash machines customary in the market place (Biotage, Büchi, Grace, Interchim, Teledyne Isco, etc.).

A detailed presentation of the SiliaSep flash cartridges and their applications can be found in our respective brochure "SiliaSep Flash Cartridges". Another brochure focusses on our SiliaSep PREMIUM line: SiliaSep PREMIUM Product line.

Further details on our SiliaSep and SiliaSep PREMIUM products are available to you here on the according webpages from SiliCycle.

SiliaPlate TLC Plates

Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), whether applied analytically or preparatively, also benefits from SiliCycle’s core expertise, i. e. the manufacturing of ultrapure silica and its appropriate processing: TLC plates displaying extraordinary silica layer hardness combined to a homogeneous coating and layer thickness allowing excellent separation.

A detailed presentation of the SiliaPlate TLC plates and their applications can be found in our brochure "Solutions for Purification and Chromatography".

Further details on our SiliaPlate TLC Plates are available to you here on the according webpages from SiliCycle.
